Who can escape death? Death comes to all. It is no respecter of man whoever he/she may be. Death comes to grandpa/grandma and grandchildren alike. Death comes to the rich and the poor; it comes to the strong and the weak; it comes to the literate and the illiterate; it comes to the good and the bad; it comes to the kings and the subjects; it comes to the leaders and the led; it comes to men and women; it comes to the young and the old and it does not spare even new born babies.
All of us must die one day or the other; it is a matter of time. But the moot point is- What must we die for? One must die for a just cause. It is a pity for those people who had died for a wrong cause or for un-repented crimes or people who had died for nothing. Late Zhukiye has given his life for the noble cause of ‘Nagalim for Christ’.
There are people whose good names outlive their life time, And there are also people whose names die and rot before their death. There is a way that leads to the future, And there is also a way that leads to the dead-end. Zhukiye walked with his people in the right path.
There are two kinds of man: A people-centered man, and a self-centered man. Zhukiye was a people’s man. He has given his best to the nation and gone into the pages of history ever to be remembered and adored by all.
NSCN joins with the bereaved family members of Zhukiye today in their sorrow. May the good lord receive his soul in Paradise!
