KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 18 (MExN): The monthly meeting of the Tseminyu District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held on Thursday at the DC’s Conference Hall, Tseminyu, under the chairmanship of Vice-Chairman and Deputy Commissioner Japheth Woch.
Prior to the meeting, newly posted officers—Theyieneinuo Belho, District Economics and Statistics Officer, and Athew Enah, Manager of Bank of Baroda—introduced themselves and were welcomed by the House.
The meeting began with a review of the previous minutes. The House approved the registration of the Tseminyu District Differently Abled Person Union (TDDAPU) as a new society. It also discussed the challenges of urban waste disposal in the district, stressing the need for a proper site for waste management, and directed the Tseminyu Town Council to take up the matter.
The House was informed that an RTI programme will be hosted in the district on October 10 at Tseminyu Town Hall. It also deliberated on the installation of CCTVs in all government offices, with a decision to approach the state government for approval.
Unanimously, the House agreed to declare Tseminyu as a “Piggery District.” The Administration, in coordination with officers of the District Committee, will formulate an action plan to be presented in the next DPDB meeting. Yhuntilo Kent, Forest Ranger, Department of Forest, Tseminyu, gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the activities carried out by the department.
