TSEMINYU, JUNE 30 (MExN): The Tseminyu District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has recommended the establishment of a Rengma Cultural Complex at Khwenphen and resolved to forward a proposal for grant-in-aid to Baptist Higher Secondary School, Tseminyu.
The decisions were taken during the DPDB meeting held on June 29 at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall, following the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting, according to a DIPR report.
The proposal for the Rengma Cultural Complex was submitted by the Semkash Women Society, Tseminyu. After deliberations, the Board agreed to recommend and forward the proposal to the Government for consideration.
The Board also examined an application for grant-in-aid from Baptist Higher Secondary School, Tseminyu. Observing the school's consistent academic performance, members decided to forward the proposal based on the report of the Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO), Tseminyu.
Earlier, addressing the DISHA meeting, Nagaland Lok Sabha MP and DISHA Chairman S Supongmeren Jamir said the forum was intended to facilitate open discussions on developmental activities, enabling departments to share the progress, achievements and challenges in implementing schemes and projects in the district.
Presentations on departmental activities were made by officials from the Social Welfare Department, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Department and the Agriculture Department.
The meetings were attended by former MLA and State DISHA member Medokul Sophie, DPDB Chairman and MLA Ar Jwenga Seb, Deputy Commissioner Japheth Woch and other district officials.
