Tseminyu hosts awareness prog on livestock insurance benefits

Tseminyu, April 17 (MExN): A one-day training programme on livestock insurance for para veterinarians and farmers was conducted at the Chief Veterinary Office in Tseminyu on Thursday to raise awareness about the benefits and procedures of livestock insurance, a DIPR update informed.

The programme commenced with an inaugural session chaired by Gwathonlo Tsela, Deputy Director, who emphasised the critical role of livestock insurance in safeguarding farmers against financial losses and promoting sustainable livestock farming.

The keynote address was delivered by Kenalo Kath, Chief Veterinary Officer, Tseminyu, who highlighted the importance of insurance coverage in strengthening rural livelihoods and ensuring economic resilience among livestock farmers.

The technical session was led by Hishalo Tsela, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon and nodal officer for livestock insurance, who provided detailed insights into the scheme, including enrolment procedures, claim processes and benefits available under the programme.

An interactive session was also held, allowing participants to raise queries, share experiences and provide feedback.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Benti Semy, who expressed gratitude to all participants and organisers for the successful conduct of the event.
