TSU responds to YTC statement

Dimapur, September 11 (MExN): The Tikhir Students’ Union (TSU) has issued a clarification note in response to Yimchunger Tribal Council (YTC) press statement which stated that TSU report on kidnapping of four Tikhirs on August 29, 2011 was “fabrication and lopsided which has/no authenticity” and “interpretation and an attempt to attract the attention of readers to feel sympathy on them”.
The note issued by Yongyanthong Tikhir, Vice president and Anthony Tsangmong Tikhir, Executive Chairman of TSU alleged that the modus operandi- kidnap was engineered by YTC and carried out by its extremist wing Yimchunger Liberation Front (YLF) and it was an attempt to murder the four victims had they not been “rescued by the armed police personnel’s”.
“The report given by TSU was authentic and so the question of fabrication or to attract the attention of readers to get sympathy did not arise. YTC is the mother of all troubles and social disharmony in Eastern Nagaland or perhaps “social disease” in our state. And who or any tribal organization like YTC must be banned in a democracy as it always poses threat to stability and derails peace and social harmony in the state,” TSU stated.
