TSUD announces 1st Inter-Tribes Students Badminton Tournament

Dimapur, March 23 (MExN): The Tenyimi Students'Union Dimapur (TSUD) Dimapur will be organising the 1st Inter Tribes Students Badminton Tournament on April 14 and 15 under the theme, ‘Oneness through Sports’ at the State Stadium, Dimapur. 

A TSUD release informed that participation is open to all the tribes living in Dimapur irrespective of their affiliations.

The tournament will feature singles and doubles for both for men and women, however, entries are open only to students with valid identity cards and their names should be forwarded only through their respective unions, it said. 

The first prize for doubles will be Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 for singles. The 1st runners up will receive 10,000 and 5000 respectively.

Forms will be issued from TSUD office at TUD Complex from March 24 onwards and the last date for submission of entries is April 4, TSUD added.

According to TSUD, through the tournament, the union hopes to instill a sense of oneness, harmony and solidarity amongst the students in particular and all the citizens of Dimapur.

“By this kind of activities, we would like to encourage students/ youths to promote healthy lifestyle and disengage them from vices like drug/liquor addiction,etc to build a better society,” it added.  

OSD Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) Johny Raungmei will grace the tournament as the special guest.
