Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): The Tenyimi Students' Union Dimapur today said that it was “appalled" to learn about the alleged fuel adulteration taking place in various locations of Dimapur and the reports that many civil societies and students’ bodies are ‘benefiting directly or indirectly’ from such illegal activities.’
It is also unthinkable that kerosene meant for BPL (Below Poverty Line) families are being reportedly diverted for such illegal purposes, the TSUD stated in a press release issued by its president, Sotilo Seb.
Accordingly, it demanded public clarification from the Food and Civil Supplies department on the issue.
The TSUD also urged the Dimapur Police to thoroughly investigate the matter and requested the Administration to conduct periodic surprise checking and testing.
Meanwhile, the union further urged the Rising People's Party (RPP) to disclose the names of the organisations and unions allegedly involved or supporting such nefarious activities.
While expressing appreciation to the party for ‘bringing out such malpractices to light,’ the TSUD also assured its unflinching support to the RPP in the fight against such illegal activities.
