TSUD expresses solidarity with Zeliangrong bodies

Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): The Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has expressed solidarity with the Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) and the Zeliangrong Youth Organization Nagaland (ZYON) in their pursuit of justice in the Pimla murder case and demand for the release of forensic reports.

In a statement, TSUD said the brutal murder of an innocent woman on April 7 has shaken the conscience of society, while lamenting lapses in the investigation, delay in forensic reports and the premature release of the prime accused on bail despite serious allegations. Such failures, it maintained, undermine the rule of law and erode public trust in the justice system.

Commending ZSUN and ZYON for their peaceful mobilisation, TSUD endorsed their demands, including the release of forensic reports and accountability for those who facilitated bail. It called for urgent and transparent redressal of the matter.

The Union also urged the Government of Nagaland and law enforcement agencies to act swiftly to uphold the rule of law and appealed to faith-based organisations and the public to remain vigilant and speak out against injustice, particularly those affecting the dignity and safety of women.
