TSUK Open Futsal Tournament concludes

Kohima, May 16 (MExN): The Tikhir Students’ Union Kohima organised an Open Futsal 7-A-Side Tournament at Pro Turf Seven on May 15, drawing participation from 30 teams and football enthusiasts from across the area.

With 30 teams in contention, the tournament witnessed competitive matches, with fixtures continuing till 9 pm.

In the final, United Homies (B) emerged champions and walked away with a cash prize of Rs 20,000, while Dream FC finished as runners-up and received Rs 15,000.
Meanwhile, Hukaito of United Homies (B) was adjudged Best Goalkeeper, while Kanaito of AXU FC claimed the Highest Scorer award with nine goals.

Earlier, addressing a brief opening programme, TSUK President Zisekyu T Chirr welcomed the participating teams and football enthusiasts to the tournament, while TSUK General Secretary K.J Musushe, in her vote of thanks, expressed appreciation to the participating teams, referees, officials, supporters, and football lovers for contributing to the success of the event.

The tournament culminated with the prize distribution ceremony conducted by Kheantsumong B, Games and Sports Secretary, TSUK.

TSUK also expressed hope that such sporting events would continue to promote unity, healthy competition, and camaraderie among the youth.
