Tuensang: 29th Loyem Memorial Trophy begins

The 29th Loyem Memorial Trophy (LMT) organized by the Confederation of Chang Students Union (CCSU) kicked off on November 9 at Parade Ground in Tuensang under the theme ‘No to depression, yes to football’ with Tongpang Ozukum, Minister PWD (Housing & Mechanical) as the special guest.

After the kick-off by the special guest the first match of started between the defending champion Nyenshen FC Vs Shanen FC.

The match ended 4-2 in favour of Nyenshen FC. However, the score line is rather unfair to Shanen FC who put up a strong resilient fight against the defending champions.

Both teams delivered plenty of excitement both in defense and attacks. 

Nyenshen FC opened the scoring in the 8th minute with Mongko (14) putting the ball in the net. However, the lead did not last long as the equalizer came in the 10th minute from Yemsen Moa (10) of Shanen FC. 

With the match all square, the atmosphere became more heated with the chants from the fans of both the teams. Mongko (14) scored again in the 18th minute and the score read 2-1 at halftime. 

Fifteen minutes into the second half, Yemsen Moa (10) scored for Shanen FC making the game all square again at 2-2.

Hanglen (6) of Nyenshen FC scored in the 22nd and 25th minute of the second half sealing the game for Nyenshen FC. 
The match referee was M Nungsang with assistants T Chuba, Shellim and fourth official N Chuba.
