DIMAPUR, MAR 7 (MExN): Citing the law, the Tuensang District Congress Committee (DCC) today asked the Director of School Education, Kohima to cancel the transfer order of an assistant teacher who also holds the post of an NCC Commissioned Officer.
The teacher, P Yanger Chang, is said to have been repeatedly transferred from Tuensang “to various places in Nagaland for not less than four times. It is surprising to see such treatment meted out to the own staff of the department, a message to the Director said. Stating that such a move is questionable by the general public, the Congress Unit said the teacher’s transfer to a primary school where a post for an NCC Commissioned Officer is absent is not advisable.
As per Rule 24 Amendment Act of 1947, an NCC Commissioned Officer cannot be removed from his posting place till his retirement.
Asking for review of the transfer order, the Tuensang DCC said the general public would have to seek the intervention of the Governor of Nagaland as per the rules quoted.
In this light, the Principal of the Government Higher Secondary School, Tuensang has been asked not to issue the release order in respect of P Yanger Chang till clarification from the education department is obtained.
