Tuensang, April 16 (MExN): The Annual Review Meeting for the financial year 2025–26 under the Divisional Management Unit (DMU), Tuensang Forest Division, was held on April 14–15 at the CBLT Conference Hall in Tuensang town.
The programme was chaired by Neotola, Office Assistant, DMU support staff, while the invocation was offered by Makam, Forester-I, Tuensang Range. The proceedings began with a welcome address by Menya Wongto.
The keynote address was delivered by Prabhat Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer-cum-DMU Head, Tuensang, who highlighted the inception of the NFMP/JICA project and elaborated on its functioning and progress in the division.
This was followed by presentations from the Tuensang, Longkhim and Noklak ranges, showcasing their respective activities and achievements. Changmongsen Chang, Team Leader of FNGO (LCS), Tuensang, also presented on income-generating and livelihood initiatives undertaken for Self Help Groups across the three ranges.
Addressing the gathering, Kihomong, SDO (Civil), Tuensang, reflected on changing trends over generations and expressed concern over depletion of forest cover and its environmental impact.
Mongko Chollen, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Tuensang, stressed the need for stronger coordination between the Agriculture and Forest departments, describing them as complementary sectors.
He also encouraged the FNGO (LCS) team to enhance convergence with the Agriculture Department to facilitate distribution of high-yielding seeds in NFMP/JICA project villages.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Betikumla, Planning and Livelihood Expert, DMU support staff, followed by a benediction offered by the JFMC chairman of Chessore village.
