Tuensang, March 30 (MExN): The Tuensang police has started the ‘Police ki Pathshala’ initiative to promote understanding of law and to encourage participation of the student community in law enforcement. The initiative also aims at making the students aware of their rights and duties as citizens, according to a press release from the PRO, SP Office, Tuensang.
The first chapter of ‘Police ki Pathshala’ programme in the district started on March 30, with SP Tuensang Amit Nigam visiting Loyem Memorial College, Tuensang.
During his interaction with students, he shared his experiences in policing while the rights as well as duties of a citizen towards society were explained in detail to the students, the release stated. SP Tuensang emphasized on the need for bridging the gap between police and citizens. While interacting with the students, he also made them aware of cyber laws, domestic violence, eve teasing, etc., and called upon them to promptly inform police when ever such crimes takes place, it added.
Meanwhile SDPO Tuensang and Principal Loyem Memorial College also shared their views about police and public relationship. Around 100 students attended the programme, according to the release.
‘Police ki Pathshala’ will be organized regularly to spread the awareness amongst the students about existing laws and to empower them, it added.
