The State Bank of India, Tuensang Main Branch organized a Teachers’ Day programme on September 4 with teachers from different schools in Tuensang town.

The programme was chaired by Lohuo Besü, Chief Manager, SBI, Tuensang who highlighted the importance of availing schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).

Chubsangla Chang, retired principal of Sao Chang College was invited as the special guest for the event. 

In her speech, Chang observed that teachers play an integral part in shaping a person and implementing positive values in them. “If the students are the backbone of the nation, it is because of the teachers. Teachers set the benchmark for everything through their teaching. They inspire people and nations to grow,” the retired educator said. 

Vice-Principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Tuensang Apenro Khuvung also delivered a short speech which was followed by a cake-cutting ceremony.
