Tuensang: TaFMA district partner EECAS launches Open House 2.0

Eastern Entertainment Cultural & Aesthetic Society (EECAS) organised World Music Day cum launching of Open House 2.0 under the initiative of TaFMA (Task Force for Music & Arts) at Wok Restaurant in Tuensang on June 19 last.

EECAS is the district partner (Tuensang) under TaFMA and a registered society under Government of Nagaland.

Hongsangsonla Chang, Director, EECAS in her welcome address said, “World Music Day is designated to pay tribute to music, something which plays a significant role in everybody’s life. Music is the essence of life, and music day is about realizing the power of music and sharing it with others.”

She thanked TaFMA for paving ways for many artists to explore their talents more. 

Many performers took the stage one after another enthralling the audience with their songs.

Yemkhong Somba, a country singer artist and a nominee of the 13th Music Award Nagaland 2021 performed numerous country songs keeping the mood of the music day alive.

Inkhum Sangmai, a class four student performed a cover of the classic “Imagine by John Lennon”.

A professional piano artist, Hauyang Shanen who draws inspiration from Mozart and Beethoven, performed “Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody” and several mash ups of well-known pop songs and classical.

Yongkongkelep, known his powerhouse voice sang Steelheart’s She’s Gone, Never Enough from the movie The Greatest Showman along with many other rock classics and Songli Yenshi, a theologian also sang the popular ‘Dandelions’ by Ruth B.

Several people took the mic and kept the night alive while, the host of the event Naonglemla W Chang, the reigning Miss Chang kept engaging the audience in between the performances.
