Dimapur, June 15 (MExN): Equipments and “machines” of the Tuli paper mill, in Mokokchung, are expected to be fully functional “within two and half years” all thanks to efforts from the chiefs of the Nagaland Pulp and Paper Corporation Ltd, says Mokokchung’s administrator.
According to the deputy commissioner of the district Murohu Chotso, the paper mill is “very fortunate” to have an ‘efficient’ chief Executive officer and general manager. A part of the mill is now functional, he said in an article to the Media.
“It is very encouraging to know from the present CEO that the major part of the machines were not spoiled but can be made serviceable after the rusted parts are duly repaired. The quality of such heavy machines installed during more than 30 years ago were having very good quality and need not to replace as of now,” he said.
The “most major part” required for repair or replacement is the boilers though, he said. The mill’s heads have now taken initiatives to propose finance and are expecting to receive ‘sanction’ from the government of India, the DC said. ‘
The pressure of the Nagaland government is required.’ The procurement of the machines, their parts and delivery to the site itself would take around one year as also installing the machines, repairing and fitting may take about eight months. “However, as per the CEO and GM of the said industry, it is hopeful to have fully run the machines within two and half years,” he said.
