TUN commemorated Naga Plebiscite Day at Shilloi Lake on May 16.
Meluri, May 19 (MExN): The Tenyimi Union Nagaland (TUN) held its executive council meeting with frontal organizations at Shilloi Lake in Meluri district on May 15 last.
The meeting was addressed by Gwasinlo Thong, President, Rengma Hoho, Vezühü Keyho, president, Chakhesang Public Organization, Thejao Vihienuo, President, Angami Public Organization and Enchang Hiaka, General Secretary Nagaland Zeliang People Organisation.
The meeting was chaired by TUN President Kekhwengulo Lea while Atathu Thurr invoked God’s blessings. Welcome address was delivered by Chonpa Jurry, President, Pochury Hoho.
Folk song was presented by Chakhesang Mother’s Association while treasurer report was given by Mishento Apon, treasurer TUN. Closing prayer was pronounced by Zhonelü Tunyi, president, Tenyimi Women Union Nagaland.
TUN undertook plantation of Avocado in the surrounding of Shilloi Lake. They also visited International Trade Centre, Avangkhu.
Later, TUN commemorated Naga Plebiscite Day at Shilloi Lake on May 16. The programme was chaired by Dr Tumda Newme while Vecüto Dozo, vice president, CPO pronounced a prayer.
Addressing the gathering, Razouvotuo Chatsu, Convenor, Advisory Board, TUN said, “The Naga Voluntary Plebiscite is an impeccable record that stands as a living testament in support of our established position as an independent Nation. Therefore, we are supposed to uphold the legacy left behind by our passed leaders.”
“In order to protect our identity as a nation we are to follow the path and stand on the foundation laid by the pioneers of our national movement,” he said.
