Longleng, September 5 (MExN): A special operation team (SOT), Longleng under the supervision of SDPO Longleng arrested 2 persons identified as Kamyang Phom and Apang Phom while conducting frisking of vehicles on September 4.
They were reportedly travelling in a night bus from Dimapur to Longleng and were found in possession of suspected brown sugar concealed in four soap cases. They have been taken into custody and criminal case registered in Longleng Police Station for further investigation, a report from DPRO office Longleng informed on Saturday.
15 drug related cases in 2021
During 2021, up to September 4, 15 cases have been registered in connection with NDPS Act and other drug related cases and 23 accused persons have been arrested. A good amount of brown sugar and other illegal drugs have also recovered and investigations taken up, the report added. The Longleng district Police sought cooperation of general public, NGOs, civil societies in tackling anti-social elements and other criminal activities in the district.
