TWO takes note of academic damage

Dimapur, March 1 (MExN): Commenting on the Tenyidie (MIL) Paper – I which was cancelled on February 22 and scheduled to March 10, the Tenyimi Women Organization (TWO) stated that it condemns the step motherly treatment of the Tenyidie language and the children studying this language by the Vice Chancellor and the company from Bangalore working under him. TWO questioned how the Vice Chancellor has easily excused the serious academic damage and discrimination of Tenyidie students by fixing another date for their examination. “Tenyidie language is the only Naga language being taught at the post graduate level in Nagaland University. Therefore, the intention of the Vice Chancellor is highly questionable as also being out of station during such a major examination affecting our children,” stated a note issued by TWO president, Beinuo Besu and general secretary Vilanuo Yhome.
The organization in the note also expressed shock to learn that the Tenyidie Department in the University is running with only one regular teacher and one contract teacher and also added that it learnt from reliable sources that the selection of the other teacher ‘Mimi Kevichusa’ was cancelled when the Vice chancellor found he could not accommodate ‘another Ao applicant’. “As of now, Mimi has been selected in the prestigious Hyderabad University and has left the university which is an irreparable loss,” informed TWO.
The organization also questions the VC why teachers have not been recruited for the said department for the past many years when there are many eligible candidates for teaching Tenyidie, English and Linguistics in the Tenyidie language. TWO further stated demand from the Head of Tenyidie Department to come out openly on the status and problems faced by the Department for the clear information of the Tenyimia people.
