Jorhat, February 10 (MExN): UCO Bank organised a Resource, MSME, Retail and Agriculture Carnival Camp on February 9 at Hojai, with Chinmay Kumar Sahu, Deputy General Manager (DGM) from the bank’s Head Office in Kolkata, as the chief guest.
Under the ongoing campaign, UCO Bank is extending loans to eligible new and existing customers to support business expansion, employment generation and regional economic development, a bank release said.
Formally inaugurating the carnival, Zonal Manager Narendra Pratap Singh welcomed DGM Sahu and other participants, and said that UCO Bank remains committed to serving customers in the Jorhat Zone, describing customers as an integral part of the UCO Bank family.
Addressing existing and prospective customers, he also cautioned customers on cyber security-related issues and highlighted the bank’s performance and vision.
According to him, during the financial year 2025–26, the Jorhat Zone has so far sanctioned loans amounting to over Rs 631 crore to 9,001 beneficiaries, contributing to the socio-economic development of Assam.
Deputy Zonal Head Hassan Ejaz Hashmi briefed participants on various retail and deposit products offered by the bank while Amit Kumar, Head of the MSME Hub, outlined several MSME loan schemes, including UCO Unnati, UCO Vahan, UCO Yuva Shakti, UCO Nari Samman and UCO Abhinandan, and emphasised the importance of MSME financing in generating employment and driving economic growth.
Addressing the gathering, DGM Sahu said UCO Bank recorded deposits of over Rs 3.10 lakh crore, advances exceeding Rs 2.43 lakh crore and total business of more than Rs 5.53 lakh crore in the third quarter of 2025–26, adding that similar carnivals are being organised nationwide with loan and deposit products offered at competitive rates.
Sahu also highlighted UCO Bank’s strong presence in the North-Eeast and its expanding digital banking services, including online applications for housing, vehicle, education and personal loans, among others. He encouraged customers to adopt digital banking solutions for ease of operations and time efficiency, and invited feedback and suggestions for further improvement of banking services.
Among others present at the programme were Gour Kishore Das, Branch Manager of UCO Bank, Hojai; Anand Kumar Gupta, Branch Manager, Lanka; Pranjal Bora, Branch Manager, Nagaon; and other bank officials and staff.
