Dimapur, August 26 (MExN): The United Government of Nagaland Parent Body (UGN/NNC PB) has appointed Vice President Akaho Swu as its new President following the completion of the tenure od of in-term President Kiutsangkiung, who served from July 13, 2024, to August 20, 2025.
The appointment was endorsed by the central cabinet, headed by Ato Kilonser Nupavi Achumi, along with Kilonsers, Regional Authorities, and the military wing under C-in-C Lt. General Kirenkiu, after the oath of allegiance was administered, informed a press release from the MIP UGN/NNC (PB).
It further urged citizens, officials, and stakeholders to extend their support and cooperation during the period of transition, reaffirming its commitment to advancing the well-being and prosperity of the nation.
The UGN/NNC (PB) also cautioned against individuals or groups attempting to “create factions within the organisation using nefarious schemes” in order to gain leadership control as well as individual collecting taxes or donations under its banner.
