It is observed that despite the direction of the High Court (Kohima Bench) dated 5th Aug. 2010 to conduct the viva voice for UGT (Under Graduate Teacher) 2003 with effect from 11th to 14th Oct.2011 and to announce the result on or before 31st Oct. 2011, the concerned department still remain adamant instead of honoring the order which is highly regrettable.
It may be noted herewith that way back in 2003 the department had conducted written test & viva voce for selection of candidates for the said post but postponed its result for reasons best known to the department. Therefore, the aggrieved candidates sought the intervention of the Court for justice. Basing on the ruling given by the Supreme Court, the department had initiated collection of all the original copy of admit card (issued during the examination) in the month of July 2011 but no further action has been taken till now.
We therefore, urge the department to kindly take the matter seriously and carry out as per the direction of the court without further delay.
Through this column we would also like to appeal to all the affected candidates from other districts not to remain silent spectators but to urge the department for early action.
