DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): The Under Graduate Teacher (UGT) 2003 Interviewers Association is impatient over the failure of the Directorate of the School Education in providing and updating any follow-up notices to the candidates for the interview on the stipulated date.
The Directorate of School Education, through the local media, on 14/07/2011, instructed about 600 successful candidates of the written exam to submit their original admit cards with 15 days. However, no information regarding the interview has been given so far.
The association has therefore decided to bring to the notice of all concerned individuals of the factual details relating to the matter and has mentioned in a statement that the association would be forced to approach the High Court again if the directions of the High Court are not complied on time. In a press note, Avi Angami, Secretary, UGT 2003 Interviewers Association, stated that as per the Order Passed by the Chief Justice, dated 05/08/2011, the High Court directed that the interview should be conducted w.e.f 11/10/2011 and the announcement of the result to be on or before 31/10/2011 enabling the successful candidates to join work at the earliest.
The association added that the origin of these developments can be traced back to the advertisement dated 07/07/2003 where applications were invited by The Directorate of School Education for 791 posts of Under Graduate Teachers. As against the result of the written examination held on 27/09/2003 and the result of the interview held on 09-12 March 2004, some unsuccessful Adhoc candidates filled a case in the High Court, challenging the selection process. As per order dated 13/06/2005, the entire selection was set aside by the High Court Appeal before the Division Bench of the High Court by the association formed back then; the result of the written exam was upheld in all the centers, except Noklak (arts), Kiphire (arts), Aboi(arts).
The Adhoc Candidates approached the Supreme Court challenging the verdict of the High Court. However, the case of the Adhoc candidates got dismissed by the Supreme Court and since the direction of the High Court was not implemented, a contempt petition was filled. The secretary has informed all its members of an emergency meeting to be convened soon and that the members would be notified through the
local media.
