Tosovi Tase, Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) candidate for Ward No. 14, kicked off an election campaign for the upcoming ULB elections today at Old Ministers' Hill Colony.
Star campaigner, NDPP and advisor of the CAWD and Taxes legislator Kudecho Khamo opined that the ULB election was different from national and state elections, as it addresses specific needs and requirements of wards at the grassroot.
He implored residents of the colonies about the importance of the upcoming ULB election, the first in 20 years, and urged them to vote for Tase, who has received broad support from the two wards, earning him the NDPP ticket.
He highlighted that Tase would be well-positioned to bring development to the Poterlane and New Ministers' Hill colonies, under Ward 14.
Khamo also acknowledged the services that Tase has been providing to society with his vision and humble character.
The Advisor also said that Congress's recent victory in the Lok Sabha election was not because of weakness of Nagaland's chief minister or the NDPP party in the state but citizens' discontent with unaddressed issues by the central government.
Tase also expressed his happiness to represent the two colonies, noting his long-standing connection to the area and his understanding of its diverse needs. He shared that he decided to run in the election to serve the 'peace-loving citizens' of the ward and, with the support of the public, family, and community, secured the ruling party's ticket.
Tase assured his commitment to the colonies, acknowledging the ward's needs, hardships, and difficulties. He solicited the support of the electorate, emphasizing his dedication to addressing the colonies' grievances with the government.
Tase stressed the importance of collective effort in bringing development to the community, reiterating his plea: 'Help me to help you.'
Among others Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, Nagakul Tase, and Agustine Solo also spoke about Tase's leadership qualities, urged people to support his leadership for the welfare of the ward.
