Sekho Thakro from Ward 9 of Chümoukedima Town Council will contest the upcoming ULB elections.
Chümoukedima, June 7 (MExN): Sekho Thakro from Ward 9 of Chümoukedima Town Council has announced to contest the upcoming ULB elections on June 6.
A press release received here stated that Thakro has served as a speaker in the Chümoukedima Town Youth Organization. He is also the former Vice President of Ward-9 Youth Union Chümoukedima Town, former member of Chümoukedima Town Development Board and former Vice President of Chütsolie Colony Youth, ward -9.
In his speech, Thakro stated that if the members of Ward-9 Chümoukedima Town support and elect him to power he will focus on better infrastructure of ward which includes roads and drainages etc. “At present public convenience, urban facilities, fight against alcohol and drugs, justice for BPL families and financing opportunity for unemployed youths is a major problem of Ward-9 Chümoukedima Town,” he pointed out. Thakro said he aims to uplift the youth and women community of the ward through job creation and economic development.
He insured to support local businesses to uplift the upcoming generation. In his speech he marked that ward-9 is one of the most developing and opportunity gathering ward at present and urged the members to set good examples to other wards.
In the programme, various dignitaries from Ward-9 Chümoukedima delivered short speeches. Abu Miario, chaired the programme while Mimin Sitlhou, Pastor Kuki Baptist Church Chümoukedima shared a word of blessing, invocation prayer was pronounced by Rev Yoko, Pastor Konyak Baptist Church Chümoukedima with benediction by Pastor Zachariah, Chang Baptist Church Chümoukedima.
