Unidentified body recovered near KMC dumping site

KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 15 (MExN): An unidentified male body was recovered on Saturday morning from an area below the KMC dumping site, located between Dzürüzou (T-Khel) and Meriema village.

The body, found around 1010 hours, was unclothed and in an advanced stage of decomposition, making visual identification impossible, Kohima Police said.

According to police, the deceased is believed to be a male of average build, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall. An old surgical scar was observed on the abdomen, running vertically from the navel towards the chest. A sacred red thread (kalava) tied on the right wrist suggested that the deceased may have been a Hindu and possibly a non-local.

All legal formalities have been completed and the body has been shifted to the morgue of North Police Station for identification.

Police have appealed to the public, particularly those with missing relatives or friends, as well as non-local organisations and community leaders, to provide information that may help identify the deceased. The Officer-in-Charge, North Police Station, can be contacted at 7005986018.
