Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): An unidentified male body was recovered near a railway track in Dimapur on January 29, police said.
According to a press note issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, a written memo was received at around 1741 hours from the Station Manager, NF Railway, Dimapur, stating that an unidentified male, estimated to be around 30–40 years of age, was found lying dead at kilometre 261/5 towards the Khatkhati end.
Following receipt of the information, a police duty party rushed to the place of occurrence for verification. An inquest was conducted over the body, and the cause of death was suspected to be a knockdown by a running train.
After completion of all legal formalities, the body was shifted to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue for post-mortem examination and identification, the police said.
