Chümoukedima, January 22 (MExN): Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Social Justice and Empowerment B. L. Verma visited the palm oil plantation site at Chümoukedima village and the Health and Wellness Centre at Diphupar B in Chümoukedima district on January 22.
During his visit to the palm oil plantation, Verma interacted with local farmers and officials and reviewed the progress of cultivation under the National Edible Oil–Oil Palm initiative. He emphasized the importance of palm oil cultivation in enhancing farmers’ income, promoting self-reliance in edible oil production and strengthening the rural economy.
At the Health and Wellness Centre in Diphupar B, the minister inspected the facilities and interacted with healthcare workers. He reviewed the services being provided and highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare delivery, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
