The Zunheboto District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of January 2025 was held at the DC conference hall, Zunheboto on January 20. It was under the chairpersonship of Rahul Bhanudas Mali, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairperson of DPDB, Zunheboto. The meeting began with greetings and introduction of new members joining the board.
During the meeting, the DC Zunheboto highlighted an important upcoming event – the visit of Suresh Gopi, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India (GoI) to Zunheboto on January 27. Mali stressed the importance of all the Heads of Departments (HoDs) being well-prepared with the details of various schemes under their respective departments. The meeting also thoroughly discussed the work allocation for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.
The DC Zunheboto provided an update on the development proposals in the district, specifically mentioning the previous visit by Jual Oram, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs GoI, on October 14, 2024. He informed the board that 15 proposals had been submitted and approved by the central government, including the much-anticipated cultural hall and a land issue, which is currently awaiting state government approval.
The Executive Engineer of the Power Department was assigned the task of presenting a detailed PowerPoint presentation at the next DPDB meeting regarding ongoing and upcoming projects in the sector.
Additionally, DC Mali shared the exciting news of a newly installed sanitary vending machine at the Saki One Stop Centre, which is set to be inaugurated later this week. This initiative aims to further promote women’s empowerment through the Saki One Stop Centre and the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW). Mali urged all departments to actively support and encourage women’s empowerment through these efforts.
The meeting concluded with the DC addressing all HoDs to set specific targets for 2025, aimed at ensuring the well-being of the district.
