DIMAPUR, AUGUST 29 (MExN): The UGN/NNC (PB) on Friday announced that the Kuki Region of the UNPG/NNC (PB), led by region chairman Lunngam, region secretary Paosat and military officials headed by Lt Col Chingpan and Maj Lettinnlen Hangsing, along with 47 national workers, has merged en bloc with the UGN/NNC (PB).

A press release issued by its MIP informed that the organisation, under the leadership of president Akaho Swu and Ato Kilonser Nupavi Achumi, welcomed the merger, describing it as a positive step towards unity and reconciliation among the Nagas. The leadership said the development would strengthen the collective struggle and build a common future based on the Naga cause.
Refutes claims of split.

Meanwhile, the UGN/NNC (PB) issued a clarification refuting reports in local dailies about the impeachment of its president and Ato Kilonser. The group alleged that a few individuals who had defected to other organisations were attempting to misuse its name for personal interests. It maintained that all regional authorities and central cabinets of the organisation remain intact and functional, and reaffirmed that no individual has the authority to dictate or undermine the collective decision-making process of the government. Reiterating its commitment, the UGN/NNC (PB) said it continues to stand firm under the umbrella of the Working Committee, NNPGs, led by GPRN/NSCN (U) Ato Kilonser and convenor N. Kitovi.
