Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today stated that the unresolved Naga political issue has hindered the desired pace of development in the state.

Speaking at the golden jubilee celebration of Tsiesema Basa village in the Northern Angami area of Kohima district, Rio highlighted that major developmental activities have been stalled for years due to the ongoing Indo-Naga political issue.

He underlined that the early resolution of this issue remains the top priority of the current government. Rio also shared that the 60 legislators of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) have united, and through an opposition-less government, submitted an assembly resolution to the Government of India, urging for the swift resolution of the Indo-Naga political issue. He mentioned that the legislators are planning to meet with central leaders once again.

Furthermore, Rio stressed that a timely resolution of the long-standing Naga political issue would unlock the potential for accelerated growth and progress in the state.
