USSC to shut down offices functioning without HODs

Kiphire, March 24 (MExN): The United Sangtam Students Conference (USSC) on Wednesday informed all the Heads of Departments (HODs) and Assistant Heads of Departments (AHODs) to be in their respective stations and provide their service to the public. Failing to adhere with the directive, the Conference cautioned that it would initiate its own course of action by shutting down the offices functioning without HODs. The concerned department will be held responsible for any unwarranted consequence, it added.

The USSC also voiced its support and appreciation for the Directorate of School Education (DoSE) Nagaland for its move to 'detect' proxy teachers in the State.

According to the USSC, a ‘meticulous surveillance’ at the primary school level has revealed that most of the government schools have been functioning with proxy teachers. The Conference questioned how the students could be expected to have a bright future when they are taught by unqualified or untrained teachers.

If the government appointed teachers are not interested in the profession, they should relinquish their posts and pave way for the deserving candidates, it stated.

While acknowledging the bold directive issued by DoSE, the Conference reiterated its earlier directive informing all government teachers to immediately report to their respective place of posting and resume their classes as per government order by providing physical evidence on their duties.

The USSC appealed the department to implement the order in letter and in spirit without any leniency and nepotism and assured its full cooperation towards the implementing authority. It also demanded immediate detachment of teachers and redeployment of those transferred with post/without relievers, since many of the schools under its jurisdiction are functioning without adequate subject teachers.

Further,it asserted that it would not compromise with any political intervention in the policy making regarding ‘transfer with post/without reliever’ and the culture of keeping attachment under any department within its jurisdiction.
