VBDAK kickstarts weeklong campaign on blood donation

The Voluntary Blood Donors Association Kohima (VBDAK) today kick started a weeklong programme as part of celebrating its one decade of existence.

Marking day one of the event, the VBDAK in association with Nagaland Adventure Club, Nagaland Motorcycle Club and All Nagaland Taxi Association today launched a car and bikes stickers campaign at the premises of New NST.

Addressing a brief function, Dr Nyanthung Kikon, State Nodal Officer, IDSP, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland was appreciative that various NGOs and agencies have came forward to support the cause.    He said that donating blood is a noble act. He was hopeful that the message on the importance of blood donation will reach out to every corner of the state. 

“Let us promote the importance of blood donation,” said VBDAK President, Ainato Yeptho and wanted to see that blood donation becomes a mass movement to save lives.

Meanwhile, it was informed that the VBDAK will launch social media awareness, and registration drive for voluntary blood donors in the mobile app on September 28 and 30. It will also conduct awareness with Ciekhan Fitness Gym on September 29.

In partnership with Nagaland State AIDS Control Society, Kohima Smart City Development Limited, Kohima battalion of Assam Rifles and Blood Bank NHAK, the National Blood Donation Day has been scheduled on October 1 at Old NST, Kohima.
