A programme to mark the launching of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Wokha district was held at Public Ground, Wokha village on December 1. The programme began with a recorded message of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi followed by Sankalp (Pledge).

Addressing the gathering at the launch, Nuhuta Tunyi, District Nodal Officer highlighted the aims and goals of launching Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. He mentioned that this campaign aims to outreach and inform all the citizens about various governmental schemes. He emphasised that the most important section of this launching campaign is the interaction between the citizens and the departments. 

“Departments are always there to highlight you about those schemes,” Tunyi added. He encouraged the people to take the opportunity and approach all the departments present at the venue in order to learn more about the available schemes and get benefit from those schemes.

He emphasised the two important components of the campaign, which are Saturation of Government policies and programmes, and Information, Education and Communication (IEC). Tunyi also highlighted on how department schemes work.

James Ezung, DWO, Social Welfare Department presented the objectives of the programme, schemes such as National Social Schemes, Integrated Child Protection Service, Children of need and care protection, Bhushan Abhiyan, Nari Adalat- Redressal Mechanism, Housing schemes, Women empowerment that includes One stop centre, Women helpline etc. He informed the people on how to apply for those schemes, documents required.

Meanwhile, Vandan Erui, VCC Wokha Village extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Government, District Administration, and Concerned Department for rendering their service to the village and making them aware of all the schemes. While assured to make use of the provided service, the VCC asked for more cooperation with all the departments even in the days to come.

As part of the event, various departments set up stalls at the venue paroviding on spot services and awareness camps to the people.Later, RD Department and Agri Department shared their experience about the success of schemes during the programme. Various departments from Wokha District attended the campaign. 

The programme was chaired by Albert Patton, BDO Wokha.
