DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 17 (MExN): The Vivekananda Welfare Foundation (VWF), Dimapur, on Wednesday extended humanitarian aid to families affected by a massive fire that broke out on December 14 at Burma Camp, East Block, near North East Christian University, Dimapur.
As part of its immediate relief measures, VWF distributed plastic buckets, mugs, and clothes to all affected families. The fire left more than 100 plot holders and over 300 families homeless, most of whom belong to economically underprivileged sections of society. With the onset of winter worsening their plight, the relief materials provided crucial support to the victims.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance, which will help them manage immediate hardships following the tragedy.
Established over ten years ago under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, the VWF is committed to the welfare of downtrodden and needy communities across Nagaland. The foundation’s work spans disaster response, education, environment, art and culture, empowerment, and livelihood development.
Reiterating its commitment to stand by the fire victims during this difficult period, the foundation appealed to the public and well-wishers to support the affected families. Guided by its motto, “Service to Man is Service to God,” VWF continues to serve humanity with compassion and dedication.
