Kohima, January 26 (MExN): MLA Dr Tseilhoutuo (Ato) Rhütso, Chairman, District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Kohima, inaugurated a newly constructed waiting shed in Mewibogei Colony, Ward No. 17, Kohima, on January 24.
The project was implemented under the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) Common Pool for 2024-25.
Speaking at the event, Dr Ato emphasised the challenges of development in Kohima, pointing out that the rising cost of land often surpasses project budgets, posing significant hurdles to executing development initiatives.
He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the residents of Mewibogei Colony for their cooperation in providing land for the waiting shed, which ensured the successful completion of the project. He assured the community of his best efforts to continue addressing their needs wherever possible.
On behalf of the residents, Chuba Jamir and Neitho extended their gratitude to Dr Ato for his unwavering commitment to the development of the colony and the welfare of its community. They noted that the waiting shed symbolizes his dedication to improving infrastructure and fostering unity in the constituency.
The inaugural function was chaired by Kongie Ozukum, Vice Chairman of the Mewibogei Council while Mar Tzudir offered the dedicatory prayer.
