Mon, November 29 (MExN): Wangkhao Government College (WGC) Mon inaugurated a newly constructed Open Auditorium and a Basketball Court-cum-Badminton Court on Saturday. The facilities were officially unveiled by Wennyei Konyak, NCS, Deputy Commissioner of Mon and Chairman of the College Advisory Board, in a ceremony attended by faculty, students, alumni, and well-wishers.
Speaking as the guest of honour, Konyak commended the college for its vision in strengthening co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities. He emphasized that such spaces are crucial for fostering creativity, sportsmanship, leadership, and community engagement among students.
According to the college, the Open Auditorium was constructed using the college’s Development Fund and through crowd-funding initiatives spearheaded by the Deputy Commissioner. Dr Tialila, Principal of WGC, expressed gratitude to the DC and all supporters for making the project possible. “These new facilities will greatly enrich student life on campus and reinforce our vision of ‘Transforming Lives through Learning,’ fostering a holistic learning environment,” the Principal stated.
