Wasted Government Funds

Nagaland is the only state in the country where 90% of the states government officers are allotted government vehicles. This, I believe, certainly deserves a mention in the Guinness book of records.

Crores of rupees are spent in procuring vehicles every year by the Government when thousands of highly educated Nagas are left to roam the streets, running from pillar to post for employment.

Government vehicles should be allotted only to VIPs like DC of each District and Secretaries and above.

All other government vehicles allotted to officers below the office mentioned ranks should be auctioned off and new vehicles should be procured after a gap of five years.

This step will certainly help the state in generating employment to our educated unemployed.

In the meantime, student bodies like the NSF etc should move the Government against rampant procurement of vehicles in order to save the state’s exchequer to channel the fund for future employment.
