Watsü Mungdang reiterates 4-point charter demand

Mokokchung, July 2 (MExN): Watsü Mungdang, the apex women’s organization of the Ao community has written to the Nagaland Minister for Department of Health and Family Welfare requesting a reply to their 4-point charter of demand submitted earlier on June 3 last. 

The Watsü Mungdang letter, a copy of which was also endorsed to the Nagaland Chief Minister, appended by their president Maonginla and secretary Moanaro requested health minister to “kindly appraise” them at the earliest.

The four demands by Watsü Mungdang submitted earlier included immediate completion of ongoing construction of Dr Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital, Mokokchung, to immediately increase the number of doctors and nurses, immediate setting up of one BSL Lab and deputing permanent professionals, and immediate increase of ICU set and ventilators.

Watsü Mungdang had also asked the government to “do what is just, honest and real” setting aside “superficial preparation as shown in the media.” It also said that they were highly concerned and disturbed by the existing “health care system management, lack of proper medical infrastructure, doctors, nurses, professionals, etc. in Mokokchung” during this time of crisis.
