The second day of the ongoing Winter Cricket Challenge (WCC) T20 witnessed dominant performances as Dashing Dudes and Lancer CC registered emphatic wins at the Public Ground, Wokha.
In the opening match, Dashing Dudes Wokha Village faced Elite CC. After winning the toss, Elite CC elected to bat first and managed 141 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Seyievizo scored 20 runs, while skipper Tapitu anchored the innings with a vital 46. Kelhousielie provided late momentum, contributing 18 runs.
In reply, Dashing Dudes chased down the target comfortably, led by a blistering knock of 74 runs from opener Vishal Kumar. Lironthung supported the chase with 25 runs as the team reached the target in the 18th over. Vishal Kumar was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding batting display.
The second match of the day saw Rising Star take on Lancer CC. Batting first, Rising Star posted an imposing total of 201 for 8 in 20 overs. Opener Hiketo Aye struck 63 off 39 deliveries, while Shamphri Terang stole the show with a rapid 72 off just 25 balls.
However, Lancer CC produced a disciplined bowling effort to restrict Rising Star to 138 for 9 in their chase. Openers Chonben (24) and Avinash (25) gave a steady start, but a middle-order collapse derailed the innings. Nchumthung and Deepak were the only other batsmen to reach double figures. Shamphri Terang was adjudged Man of the Match for his explosive innings.
