In the Nagaland papers, mostly solution for Isak-Muivah is covering the front pages as if important. Such as, Naga Hoho and Eastern Naga People Organization (ENPO) resolved to take out a “peaceful rally” in support of solution. Also Joint Legislators resolved to resign en mass to pave the way for Isak and Muivah to come to power.
No doubt the same leaders of the fathers or brothers had given their thumb impression in support of the sovereign existence of Nagaland when the NNC (Naga National Council) conducted Plebiscite in May 1951. That was a solemn pledge of their fathers for the future of Nagaland, which can never be revoked by whosoever sons or grandsons. In this concept, when the Shillong accord was declared condemned by Isak and Muivah, the same people appreciated and supported saying; they have taken the right step.
Again now, Isak and Muivah are contemplating to have a solution within the frame work of Indian constitution which is none other than the implementation of Shillong Accord. Again the same people are supporting it too.
These people are working and shouting for peace among the Nagas, and shouting to stop bloodshed. They may have clear vision that if a solution within the framework of Indian Constitution is brought, more killings among the Nagas would happen.
According to Nagaland Yehzabo (Constitution) even the FGN is not a competent body to talk with the GoI for the final solution of Indo-Naga conflict, except the NNC. On this ground the Accord has become unworkable and thus consigned in the pages of history long before the so-called NSCN came into existence.
In March 1965, the proposal of Nagaland Peace Mission was brought to Nagaland Tatar Hoho (Parliament) and explained it. The proposal was “A solution within the Indian Union, outside Indian Constitution”. The Tatar Hoho of the FGN rejected it, stating that the Nagas are not demanding independence from India; we are defending our own sovereign independent. However, R. Suisa modified it and made it as his own proposal. Also when the accord becomes unworkable Muivah is trying to implement it after killing thousands of Nagas.
It is not an accidental event but deliberately doing to destroy the sovereign existence of Nagaland. If we are supporting it, we must know who we are.
