DIMAPUR, MARCH 6 (MExN): The West Stadium Colony Dimapur (WSCD) held a general meeting at the residence of N. Ghukoto Sumi. During the meeting the colony members also, unanimously, elected Ghokuto and Alumo Patton as the colony Chairman and Secretary respectively. The resolutions adopted during the maiden meeting are as follows:
1. The nomenclature of the colony shall be called as West Stadium Colony, subject to approval by the general public with its boundary:
North: PWD colony
South: Stadium main approach road
East: State Stadium
West: National Highway 39
2. For according due recognition of the said colony, the meeting deliberated upon approaching the District Administration and the DMC.
3. Of approaching the administration for the appointment of one Gaon Bura (GB).
4. To pursue the electricity installation as well as an additional transformer since the present one (Transformer) is not adequate and power supply remains short leading to frequent black outs.
5. It also reviewed the presentation on provision of footpath cum drainage system, for which the same had been submitted, earlier, to the concerned administration. The colony members also rued the utter failure of the administration in materialization of the assurances, thereby, leading to water clogging / stagnation of water, creating / posing great health hazard, albeit erecting of the wall but of no value. Therefore, the WSC requested the concerned authority to look into the matter, or for that matter, arrangement of provision of drainage system.
6. Request for providing proper garbage disposal bin / system, since the sanitary tax is being levied by them.
7. In view of the Bird-Flu outbreak, the colony members have reminded the proprietor of the poultry farm in the vicinity to close down by April 1. Besides, halting of the running of the generator at late hours and the same has been intimated to the Steel Fabrication Units to restrain from working late at night since it causes great distraction and disturbances ( especially to students’, sick patients and infants).
8. The house also, henceforth, decided to have get – together somewhere in the month of January 2007, where the Chairman and the Secretary will initiate the program in due course. Also, the house resolved to deal firmly those found indulging in any anti – social activities; be they from the colony residents or those from outside.
