There are lots of speculations regarding the talks between the NSCN(IM) and GOI. But very few have understood the forces that can bring about a solution. Therefore, to remove all doubts and anxieties and also bring early solution one needs to understand the core issues.
When Mosses was leading the Israelites out of Egypt to the promised land of God it was not a smooth and peaceful business. The mighty pharaoh will not let them go away at any cost and on the other hand there were oppositions and complains amongst the Israelites exhibiting their unbelief towards God’s promises.
Today Nagas march towards free Nagalim resembles the days of mosses. God`s promised of Nagalim seems like a distance dream to many. There are two reasons why it seems like a distance dream to us and also why did we fail to achieve Gods gifted Nagalim.
Firstly, it is from God’s side. Our God is a God of perfection thus He wants the Nagas to be in a position to receive His gift. He wants His gift of Nagalim to be treasured preciously by the people and use it to further His kingdom and glory. When God gift something He wanted the full credit to Himself alone, and therefore if Nagalim is for Christ then Nagas have to step out from their lukewarm lives to more radical living in Christ, then only we will be in a position to give full credit to God. Due to our unfaithfulness God delays reaching our destination like he did to the Israelites in the desert.
Second reason is due to Satan’s intervention. The main aim and purpose of Satan is to foil Gods plan. The Bible has so many stories how Satan tries to foil Gods plan. Even our lord Jesus was tempted by Satan, Satan promised Jesus with mastery over the whole world. Satan uses various methods to deceive the Naga people and foil them from achieving God’s gift. Satan used King Herod to kill Jesus from the very day He was born. In the same way, Satan has unleashed a great destructive force in the Naga society so that God’s promises for Nagalim will not come true. These destructive forces take various dimensions and have permeated in every aspect of our daily lives. The Naga societal environment is filled with mutual distrust, jealousy, hatred, enmities, violence, slaves to materialism, building up storeys of pride and ego, unforgiving, and walls around our hearts. These have created fear and suspicion amongst the Nagas. These demonic forces have clouded our eyes to see God reaching out His hand to us with the gift of Nagalim. Satanic spell have erased the promises of God from people’s mind and many Nagas therefore have now become a stumbling block to Nagas’ march for solution. Promotion of divisive forces on tribal lines is a powerful tool of Satan to foil God’s plan in Nagas context. One of the strongest tools of Satan to fool the people is accusation and wrong propaganda. We see in the Bible how Satan accuses Job to God and at the same time how Satan also accuses God to Job through his wife and friends. This type of accusation is lavishly used in the media and daily speeches.
When the Chairman and the Secretary of NSCN(IM) mentioned about repentances and looking upon God in prayer, it held a deep significance for the national leaders and for the public in general. It is a crucial time for Nagas to take a right decision by committing to Jesus Christ first and then stand up and fight for our rights. Let us beware that we do not become an agent of Satan and destroy the peace process but contribute to it in our own capacity with an attitude of fulfilling God’s plan. God bless Nagalim. KUKNALIM.
