It has been reported in the media that the Union Minister of State (Independent i/c) for Power and New & Renewable Energy, RK Singh during his recent visit in Imphal has stated that Manipur is the fastest reforming state in power sector in the country. It is indeed a worth praising achievement of the neighbouring state which has become a full fledged State in January 1972. Nagaland had achieved Statehood on 1.12.1963, i.e. nearly 10 years ahead of Manipur. But here in Nagaland, the denizens are enjoying with 1: 3 hours of electric supply especially in the only commercial HUB, Dimapur city. You try to get your works done within one hour and if you can’t finish it then wait for another three hours for the light to come. Wow! What a pleasure it is. In this way life in and around Dimapur city has become a nightmare for the last two weeks or so. You never know how long this kind of torturous life will go on, one more week or last till the festive season of Christmas and New Year? God forbids! Hope people in powers are listening.
