What we learnt from the NBCC Jubilee?

Raithu Newmai: All the shortcomings of the ensuing NBCC Platinum jubilee has been shared by the members of this group. I do not want to add another post on this jubilee. However, there are many commendable efforts undertaken by NBCC in organising the jubilee which needs to be highlighted and appreciated by one and all.

1. Cleanliness in Kohima.

2. Developments in new capital complex (New Sect area)

3. State of the art convention centre

4. Standard film festival

5. Excellent art exhibition

6. Internationally renowned speakers

7. Stalls of all tribes attracting huge attentions and providing food for thousands of delegates from and outside Nagaland

8. Free bus shuttle service between civil sect junction and convention centre

9. Live coverage on TV and radio

10. Best quality program booklet for free and souvenir

11. Emergency service, security, fire and medical arrangement

12. Latest technical equipments including PA system and big screen visuals in and outside the hall

13. Volunteers managing 1000s of delegates and visitors in almost perfect courtesy viz. guide, traffic, sanitation and all arrangements.

Ten on ten for event management.

Kudos to NBCC. Add more if any.

Wabang Imchen: I got one more HOLIDAY chuti. Yippee!

Akhrieno Savi: Don't really enjoy all those superficial, extravagance performances and activities. A worship from the heart will do. Wish NBCC and other Christian organisations emphasize more on simplicity and teach the Nagas how to simplify life particularly in a time when Nagas are craving for power, money, status and popularity.

Imsutoshi Longkumer: Is this really an achievement? Think about it! in our nearly 50 yrs of statehood, we see some goodness around us only during the V.V.I.P Days; quasqui-centennial, Hornbill (week), visit by some big shots from outside the state, this and that jubilee/festival. The mere fact that our leaders (Political and church) can change our surroundings to such a regulated and orderly society (Even if for a very short time) indicates that it is within their capacity/reach to make things better. They choose not to!!!! I would not attribute this to ignorance, rather it is intentional malice towards the present and future generation. Anyway it is good to see something good even if for some few days (Rather then never). Sorry for sounding a little bitter, but when you see what could have been done, and yet, nothing was/is done, it gets a little frustrating. (And of course we are all mere by-standers, me included!)

Zhabu Rutsa: I really feel pity for the traffic volunteers because in the weather's very hot during the day and I don't see the them being provided water or juice for those volunteers. I see them thronging the shops nearby for tea or cold drinks.

Vincent Belho: I enjoyed the visual delight of the NBCC Platinum Jubilee, learned much and can't stop but appreciate the fantastic manner in which it has been organised. We the Nagas have shown that we can, if we want to. Lets us from here walk the show/talk for ourselves now. Congratulations dear leaders. Hooray to stewards and traffic boys. Singing and choreography effectively spoke what it intended (little flexibility better). Just excellent!

Waiting to see if Govt. authority henceforth will be able to emulate the example set by Church volunteers or will continue to cleverly hand down their responsibility upon the church volunteers now. The resolutions came when most needed too.
