Wheels for school, 20 girls receive bicycles in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, December 10 (MExN): A programme for distribution of bicycles to girl students was held at the Office of the Border Magistrate, Tzurangkong, on December 10, where a total of 20 bicycles were distributed to 20 girls from GHS Tzurangkong, Mokokchung.

A DIPR update stated that the criteria of selection included distance from the school, student's academic performance in the last exam among others. 

It informed that the initiative was undertaken by Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung (DC) in coordination with AGM (CSR) and Regional Manager, RBO Mokokchung with an aim to support education in remote parts of Mokokchung district.

The initiative was greatly appreciated by the people of Tzurangkong range, Tzurangkong Senso Mungdang, TKM, faculty and teachers of GHS Tzurangkong, students.

The parents of the students, who received the bicycles, expressed their utmost gratitude to the DC for the initiative and for giving due importance to the student community of this remote and under developed region of Mokokchung district.
