It is worldwide approved that Da Vinci Code is just a fiction, but as Christians we know that it is nothing but a Wolf in the skin of a Sheep (Satan at his best craftiness)! You know Satan is a master deceiver!! The most disturbing factor is the claim of the writer that ‘all descriptions of artworks, architecture, documents and secret rituals quoted in the novel are accurate’, which proves beyond doubt the intention, and the perpetual force behind this creative writer! But, can The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown really pose threat to the living God? How about the preceding novels which have failed miserably to shake our faith? This isn’t the first attempt to distort our faith….. Which we’ve probably failed to notice.
Commendable write ups have been pouring in branding The Da Vinci Code as just a mere fiction, as have been published in our local dailies, and I agree that this movie has to be shown, on the contrary, we can’t overlook that even in advanced western countries many nominal Christians are been swayed away. However, ban against the release of this movie by our respected Nagaland Government and NBCC is questionable; I’d want to vomit out my piece of mind too:
1. Did Jesus ever protest by trying to justify himself when he was about to be crucified? Remember, he even forgave when he was nailed on the cross! Is Dan Brown a God that we should be shying away from him? Why are we making Satan happy by trying to stop the release of this movie?
2. Paul said; “I now rejoice in my sufferings for you”, in Colossians, 1:24. He enjoyed in his suffering for the sake of Christ. Are we today looking for the bed of roses to serve Christ? Paul was filled by the Holy Spirit; aren’t we following the same God?
3. In the name of Jesus how many miracles have we seen before our own eyes? In the name of Satan or any great man (who can’t save himself) who has saved the other person? To whatever extent any fiction may intend to fictitiously sell the name of Christ, the living GOD shall emerge victorious always. Christ did not shy away from suffering and death but conquered it by facing it! We have to try to be like Jesus for he is the only way.
4. I endorse the view of our previous writers; ‘the more we try to ban the release, we are creating confusion about the truth. Why should it hurt anyone? It should only serve to strengthen our faith, not wither. In the public park, even a shit well covered can create curiosity or bomb scare!
5. Leaving aside the Da Vinci Code, Can you imagine that Churches in Nagaland can now openly warn each other of dire consequences even in the public media (whew)?!
NAGALAND FOR CHRIST! How ungodly we are becoming! Aren’t we are putting the holy name of God to shame? Jesus taught LOVE, TOLERANCE and HUMILITY, and even sacrificed his life to redeem us; he also spoke about the days to come. Are we Christians trying to defend ourselves like Peter in his days without Holy Spirit?
6. If Da Vinci Code is capable of inflicting harm to Christianity, why not we first start banning from dirty movies, magazines, etc, etc. to Hindi Serials which are projected innocently without much flesh exposure, but is too good in projecting only misunderstanding and plotting conspiracy against each other, which I believe can do long term damage in the outlook of the Nagas (esp. those addicted to it!). Did you hear the gossip? Somebody even prayed for ‘Kasauti’ Serial!!!
7. I would neither encourage anyone nor would I discourage. But those in the government and Church should desist from raising hue and cry over petty matters, the pros and cons from all the angles should be studied first, because their opinion matters a lot on the simpletons like me! Adam and Eve did not commit sin by seeing the forbidden fruit, but by savoring it! We would, only when we surrender our belief!!! The ban is laughable.
“Hey, if we can create this much furor for a fictitious book, how are we gonna react if mass scale persecution of Christians begin worldwide?! Are we working for Christ to increase our population worldwide so that we’ll crush all other religions like they intent to do?!!”
In conclusion, my stand is clear as a layman, I’m not trying to brand the NBCC or Nagaland Government as non believers, but this write up is to be understood that there are many laymen like me, and we simple folks require uncomplicated and lucid explanation. Let’s ask this question: Isn’t the biblical understanding based on the Wisdom of God strong enough to ward off such minor and fictitious novel of its standpoint? I also write this article for non-believers, who thought Jesus is a God, but now that we demonstrate as if we have conceded defeat feels that maybe our God is also just another legendary epic!!! Jesus was; is; and will be God eternally. Amen.
