‘Will not be responsible for any eventuality’

DIMAPUR, JULY 14 (MExN): The NSCN Khaplang has stated that since its “peaceful approach to end strife has out rightly been rejected by Khehoi campers, the NSCN/GPRN may not be held responsible for any eventuality” and that “any actions or counter actions to be initiated shall solely be focussed on protecting the political and historical rights of the Nagas against the enemy aided Khehoi campers onslaught”.

A press note issued by the MIP also stated that in order to defend the inalienable rights and aspirations of the Nagas it shall   henceforth treat “Khehoi campers as anti-Naga, anti-peace and enemy sponsored elements”. It stated that “these hostiles shall be dealt with iron grip for which the Nagas are being pleaded to extend utmost supports and prayers to overcome the challenges”.

The NSCN (K) has pointed out that “decades of unresolved Indo-Naga-Myanmar political conflicts” had created “undesirable political polarity in the course of Nagas political struggle” and that “inundated with factionalism and wanton killings, the unique and genuine aspiration of the Nagas has been rendered to a group’s conflict within the Naga family”.

“However, in order to salvage the Nagas political and historical rights and legacies, the NSCN/GPRN under the astute leadership of SS.Khaplang has been striving to revive the movement from factional to broad National struggle”, stated the press note issued by the MIP.

The NSCN (K) stated that “with the unfortunate unfruitful peace initiatives by various platforms”, it was taking the “onus of ushering peaceful co-existence amongst Naga conflicting groups, so that internal misunderstandings may no longer hamper the core political issues confronting the Nagas”.

The MIP press note however termed as “ominous that certain group at the instigation of enemy’s forces choose to keep the Nagas divided on the basis of imposed imaginary boundary (MC Mohan line between India and Myanmar)”.

Terming it as “worth noting”, the NSCN K) stated that even “Naga social organisations defies the arbitrary boundary that segregates the Naga families and country into two, therefore it would be beyond comprehension that NSCN/GPRN ever concedes to such division”.

On the contrary, it stated that some “dissident group without bothering to recall thousands of precious lives sacrificed for the last sixty five years, brazenly recognises this artificial boundary and rejects peace offers”.

“The Naga people in general may thus pass judgement and immediately uproot such anti-Naga menace from creating further havoc to stall the progress of Indo-Naga-Myanmar political resolution of the conflicts”.

The NSCN (K) stated that it was “quite confident on the conviction of the Naga people irrespective of artificial boundaries that, previous successive agreements/accords of betrayals would not be permitted to be repeated merely to serve the selfish interests of dissenting group enjoying the full patronage of enemy’s forces and agendas”.

“The NSCN/GPRN thus, regardless of temporal roadblocks being erected by inimical elements averse to Naga unity would steadfastly pursue the Indo-Naga-Myanmar political issue and shall never succumb to the lure of temporary economic packages or rehabilitation at the expense of Nagas political and historical legacy”.
