Where to start and how to end regarding the condition of power supply in Nagaland and Dimapur in particular? (The commercial hub of Nagaland). Once I had gone through a news item where it was written that Nagaland is the best payer of power bills to the NEEPCO amongst the North East States. Accordingly, Nagaland should have been getting the best power supply; but practically it seems just the opposite. (Poor Newton, his law has failed in Nagaland). Whenever enquired about the power supply the departmental staffs only reply that there is no supply from the main source. Now where is the main source? Where is the power supply coming from? I once heard/learnt that DHEP would be providing or has the capacity to provide sufficient power for the whole state and that it will even be extended to other states. I was elated but found it to be only a very nice imagination.
Could the power department clarify as to why we are not getting regular power supply? Are any alternatives being worked out to ensure regular power supply, if our main source cannot provide us sufficient regular power? Or does the department want the consumers to suffer this misery silently?
Another minus point t is that whenever there is rain or wind, immediately power is out. Why? Reason being, the trees/branches touch the wires/lines and thus to safeguard them. Good reason! But what is MITC for? What is their job? Are they not there to ensure clear lines; or are they there only to cut off lines of the consumers who do not pay bills regularly. (Which MITC is very good at). But even that, one or two green notes shown to them and presto! the lights are back again.
Load shedding, nothing to be said as it is understood even by the infants who keep reminding us of the timings. Why should only some suffer? “Let all suffer alternatively” – suggested motto for the department. Anyway one good thing has happened to my family is that; our food timing has changed according to the load shedding timings. Now all eat together which was not possible without load shedding.
Nobody likes darkness, even our creator did not like it, so he created light. So when our creator did not like darkness how can we mortal beings like it? Could the power department do something to enlighten us?
