With ‘Charter of Demands,’ NNPA to jointly pursue political dialogue with GoI

Dimapur, February 26 (MExN): Recognising the need for a unified and constructive engagement, the Collective Leaderships of Naga National Political Alliance (NNPA) has resolved to jointly pursue political dialogue with the Government of India (GoI).

“As part of this initiative, the NNPA will present its own Charter of Demands, ensuring that the aspirations of the Naga people are safeguarded within an inclusive solution,” resolved a meeting of the Collective Leaderships of the NNPA on February 25.

The resolution was adopted in pursuit of the Alliance’s continued commitment to facilitate progress toward an inclusive and sustainable solution for the Nagas yearning for an amicable and honourable solution to the longstanding political issue, stated a press release from NNPA Co-ordinator Nillo Sheyipu.

The meeting also resolved to “solidify and strengthen” the Alliance.

To this end, the NNPA stated that it places its trust in the sincerity of the GoI to acknowledge and engage with the Alliance in good faith.

The alliance remains steadfast in its pursuit of an equitable and comprehensive solution that respects the rights and interests of all the stakeholders, it added.

It must be noted here that  four Naga Political Groups (NPGs) comprising of the NSCN/GPRN (Khango), NSCN/GPRN-R (Akato), Z Royim led NNC (PB) and NPGN NNC/NA (MK) unanimously resolved to form the common platform – NNPA on April 12, 2024.

The new platform has been formed “in the larger interest of the Naga people and to determine the future political aspiration of the Nagas,”  a press statement then informed.
